| The Kazekage’s office was a place of business. It was not intended to be a friendly place when it was made; though throughout the years Kage added some touches to make it seem less intimidating. Sandy coloured walls, with beams set into it made of seasoned oak, curving from the walls up into the ceiling. The door was actually two, opening inwards to the office to be looking upon the wide desk of the shadow himself. It was also made of oak, carved and painted to make it darker than the other wood in the room. The patterns in the wood centre on a huge depiction of the sun and is surrounded by countless heads of people looking towards it. Upon the desk was some generic stationary, as little as needed, as well as a few unimportant documents laying on it neatly. The whole room was free of clutter; books on the shelves, documents filed away and spare clothes in a wardrobe in the corner of the room. It was the way the Kage of 20 years liked it, on top of his work left him more time to oversee the day to day running of his village. And when he was forced to stay in this office, he would only need look out of the window that replaced the entire back wall. Being the tallest building in the village, one would not be able to peer into the office from afar, only those standing right next to the thick reinforced glass would be visible to those down below, and barely at that.
Daizai the Kazekage for the past twenty three years sat comfortably in a padded wooden chair, none of the fancy swivel chairs that his outside secretary insisted on. He much preferred a solid seat. He had managed to steal an hour to himself; no work needed urgently doing for the Kage side, and the small missions had been seen to, mostly. He could read a book in peace, an astronomer’s take on the stars and what they are, the subject had fascinated him for years, the sun in particular. His secretary was aware that he had grabbed this hour and fully approved of it, since Daizai was almost always working and thought a man of his age should be more laid back and shirk some of his responsibilities. But the older man had none of that, merely laughing a dismissal to her thoughts to take this hour of reading. The time for his break had almost elapsed; he would soon need to find some work to do, there always was something to do. He wore his standard clothing, except for his Kazekage hat that hung from a cord at his neck. As he held the book open in one hand, he absently stroked the scars on his face, half busy reading and half hoping his white haired secretary had no more work for him today.

- Quote :
- Mission Name: Instant Messenger
Requester: Council of Sunagakure Rank: D Description: The Kazekage’s Building is a busy place. Much hustling and bustling all day long. With all that goes on there, sometimes word needs to be sent quickly from one place to another. Perhaps one day some form of messaging service will be developed that can allow for top secret messages to be sent from one location to another through, some form of air like signaling or something. Until then, that is where you come in. At least one message must be sent from or to the kage’s office with an elder or the Kazekage speaking. Takers Needed: 1+ Requirements: Genin or higher Reward: 50,000
(Finishing Mission) I was now at the Kazekage's office, my final destination of the day it would seem. I spoke to the Secritary, telling her I needed to see the Kazekage. She asked me about what, and I told her it was to deliver a message from the Shinobi Academy. She seemed to be half expecting it, but asked me to sit and wait for a few minuets, that the Kazekage Daizai was busy at the moment. I sat quietly, almost in a trance it would seem. About fifteen minuets passed as I recollected I had another message as well. I stood up and walked up to the secretary. "Please sir, you have to wait a few more minuets, the Kazekage was busy at the moment." I ignored her words and pulled the message envelope out. "I forgot, I had a message to deliver to you as well, from the secretary at the Academy."I handed her the message and she read it slowly. I stood there waiting half expecting something but she looked back up at me. "Thank you for the message."

| From behind his book he could still feel the on goings of his village; his mind was in two places. Absorbing the contents and reflecting on the book, the other place paying attention to the people in the village scurrying around like ants. Some faster ones full of life, larger blips on his radar with the chakra they housed. One such being, made its way upstairs. Hovering outside of his office, Daizai peered over his book for a second, half thinking that it was going to burst in here urgently despite what he had asked of Shae, luckily the business had not been deemed important enough. Turning a few more pages in, he then noticed the young man outside drawing near to his assistant. He couldn’t pick up on the conversation; naturally the office was fully sound-proofed. He was ready to get back to business, he closed up his book and pulled out his personal draw for the next rare moment of peace he could garner. Another part of the décor to the office was sand covering the whole floor. None would be found on any other surface when Daizai was in the room, the clean freak that he is, allowing for about half an inch of the grains to cover the base. To those who knew nothing of the Kage it would seem extremely odd to keep sand in the room, when the outside had more than you could shake a stick at. But obviously his lineage and position other than Kazekage was more than enough to explain why he was surrounded in sand, a good Sabaku clan member always was.
Just about the time Shae thanked Kishin for the message he decided to let the boy in. Without the need for any gestures sand rose from the floor to reach for the handles, curling tightly around them in complete synchronisation the pulled the door inwards. Daizai sat at his desk unmoving, his face without emotion but the years had painted on them a certain experienced look, enough to render his appraising gaze intimidating without him trying. He upturned his palms as a sign for the boy to enter as well as a gruff, “Come in.”, no need then more for that, the genin was here for a reason and Daizai wanted to know why.

| The door slowly crept open revealing a sand ridden room, decorated sparsely with a dark wooden desk and a figure behind it, staring at Kishin. Kishin looked towards the doors as they crept open, hearing the whine of the hinges.
I looked up, to see the figure behind the desk, and the motion of the sand nearby the door as it opened. I knew very little about the kage, in a personal manner. After all, I was a shinobi of the village, and it would be impractical for any shinobi that graduated from the academy to not know anything about the kage that has reigned over the village for the last 20 years. Information and deeds done during his reign and before were a commonly taught keynote. And his bloodline spoke of often enough.
To that end, I knew of the man known as Daizai Sabaku, The Ghost of the Desert, the Sand Release master. But to see his skills being used firsthand, this was my first time. It was a slightly eerie feeling, to see the sand move even slightly.
He hadn't seen the actual risen moving sand, but the slow moving base that supported the movement.
Sand was an everyday sight in the village, it would have been something to fear if it could rise and have an hand of control within this, Sunagakure, oasis on it's own. Though the idea itself only sparked interest within me. Some would have been discouraged, perhaps even afraid, to meet the man. Rumors about him persisted, echoing from person to person. I on the other hand would have eventually sought to meet him, though perhaps a little further down the path of my life.
I stepped into his office, the sand shifting below my feet with each step. I stopped halfway within the room and gave a slight bow to the kage. "Afternoon, sir." I spoke without hesitation and respect, as I would with a family member or clan member that I was training. I waited a moment for any response that might be given, or a showing from him, but would ultimately continue, "I have been sent here with a folder from the Shinobi Academy. It contains information about the next years recruits to the academy." I stepped forwards closer to the desk and placed the folders onto it, though close to the edge. The desk was huge, and I was a little to short to place them closer to him.
The folder given to him contained more then just the next year's recruits at the academy, but also the last batch of student that had graduated. Within it was detailed information about those that graduated, and those that failed. Kishin's profile would also be within the folder.
