Clan History: The Terumi clan is a bloodline that dates back before the famous Mei Terumi reigned over Kirigakure as the Fifth Mizukage. The clan was a relatively unknown family that originated from the Land of Water. Their ability to manipulate the Yuton element was trully a unique feat to have. At that time in history, the Lava release was not a known element in the shinobi world. When the shinobi forces of Kirigakure discovered the Terumi clans true potential, they were all over the opportunity. They quickly adopted the Terumi clan into Kirigakure, transforming the Terumi clan almost solely into a shinobi based clan. Creating their own living quarters within the village itself, where only the Terumi clan lived. The Mizukage at the time cherished the Terumi clan greatly and the gift they had due to their bloodline.

When the time came, Kirigakure used the Terumi clan’s shinobi as suprise weapons on the foes whoever it may be. Acting as an element of suprise, the yoton element was new to the rest of the shinobi world and no one knew how to counter or even stop the lava based ninjutsu the Terumi clan possessed. It was only a matter of time before the rest of the world began to fear and despise the Terumi clan. As all good things come to an end, so did the Terumi clan. The Terumi clan was widely becoming known by all shinobi in the world. People of all villages began to prepare how to defeat the Yuton wielders although none would be prepared for the real thing if the time ever came for them to face a Terumi in battle.

Kumogakure and Iwagakure were the two villages that came together with a compromise for Kirigakure. The two villages threatened to destroy Kirigakure if they did not comply. Kirigakure was to either destroy the Terumi clan themselves or force them to divide the clan up into three. Sending a third of clan to Kumogakure and a third to Iwagakure. Kirigakure was forced into the decision to split the clan up against their will.

With the clan split up across the world, the Terumi clan began to fall apart. The yotun users in the other countries of Earth and LIghtning who were once Terumi’s, began to branch off and no longer used the Terumi clan surname. A result of this is why future shinobi from these villages randomly appeared with the Terumi bloodline traits but no clan to claim their alliegance to. No longer having any existance in Iwagakure and Kumogakure, the Terumi clan solely lived in Kirigakure, smaller and weaker than ever. When they were split into three, Iwa and Kumo took the majority of them, leaving a small percentage in Kirigakure.

No longer being forced into the shinobi life styles, the Terumi clan tried to return to their formal village and homes. Though they knew life would never be the same with their entire clan broken apart, the Terumi clan even in Kirigakure began to fall off in numbers. The Terumi clan had began to die off. Multiple reports of missing Terumi clansmen began to happen. No one questioned the incidents while they happened, not even their own family members. The clan slowly began to fade away and disperse within the land of water just as they did in the other countries. Only one small family stayed true to the bloodline throughout the years. This is the family that many years later, Mei Terumi rose from. Not only the most talented Yuton user the world had ever seen but also the one sole person to bring the Terumi clan back into ‘existance’. Mei Terumi lived in an era that the Terumi clan was still one family in which she came from, but in her achievement in becoming the Mizukage, they rose up once more.

Long after her reign as the Mizukage came to an end, the Terumi clan finally began to expand once more. It has been some time now, and one could expect the Terumi clan to be as big and as proud as it once was so long ago, but that is not the case. The clan decided to keep from becoming too big as they used to be to avoid what happened in the past. The clan still strives to this day, though not as close knit as they used to be. The past and former clan leaders decided not to be as strict on the regulations on the clan as others are. Though still under command of a clan leader, the Terumi clan remains standing tall and proud of its people in Kirigakure.

Clan Leader: Saiko Terumi
The highest rank in the Terumi clan. The Clan Leader is the person that runs and makes all the rules and regulations within the clan. What he says goes and almost overrules even the Mizukage in most situations within his clan. Mostly due to the clan respects and trusts their clan leader more than anyone over the Mizukage.

Clan Captain: N/A
The second in command who usually rules over the clan when the leader is not around. His job is to basically do the Clan Leaders job unless something of dire importance that requires something only the Clan Leader can do.

Clan Officer: N/A
The first tier of command in the Terumi clan. This position holds a lot of responsibility. The Clan Officers not only oversees the day to day activity within the clan but also spends time with the shinobi within the clan training and teaching.

Elemental Affinity(s): Members of the Terumi clan possess both the Doton and Katon elements and have access to Yoton release.

Kekkei Genkei: Lava Release (熔遁; 溶遁, Yōton; Viz "Corrosion Style" or "Lava Style") is an advanced nature kekkei genkai that combines fire and earth-based chakra to create lava and related substances that can serve multi-faceted purposes.

Yoton, also known as Lava release, can be manipulated into different forms. Besides the typical molten rock substance that it is best known for, it can also take the form of quicklime, acting as a corrosive substance. In addition, Yoton can also be manipulated into a vulcanised rubber, acting as an unusual substance with traits unlike the other forms.

Description: The user envelops their entire body in a coating of lava that enhances the damage of their physical attacks. Due to the extreme heat generated by the lava, the user is capable of burning the target without coming into direct contact with them. In addition to the offensive damage the armour can inflict, it can also be used for defensive purposes, as it acts as a deterrent towards those who wish to attack the user physically.
Drawbacks: Requires a B-Rank amount of chakra to activate, and then a C-Rank amount of chakra per post to keep the technique in effect.

Description: Mei releases a large amount of lava from her mouth, which spreads into a broad, thin sheet as it travels through the air. Since it is shot upwards in an arc so as to descend onto the targets from above, it prevents the intended individuals from jumping up to avoid the attack. A great deal of smoke is created afterwards by the effects of the lava, so should the targets still be alive, a follow-up attack can be conducted while their vision remains obscured.
Drawbacks: The smoke cloud that is formed after the attack can also obscure the vision of the user, making it difficult to create a follow-up attack efficiently.

Description: This technique makes use of the Lava Release kekkei genkai where the user expels a large quantity of quicklime from their mouth, capable of inflicting damage to an opponent. This ability can also be manipulated in order to restrict the intended target's movements, as after the initial blast the remnants of the substance can act in a similar manner to quick-drying cement. However, the technique requires the addition of water to set off the necessary reaction to make the substance harden. This can be easily achieved through the use of a Water Release, which can also serve to increase the area covered by the substance, thus further increasing the potential range of the technique.
Drawbacks: Requires the use of the Water Release to make the quicklime harden faster.

Description: The user expels a large glob of lava from their mouth, which quickly solidifies into a hollow ball that can be used to protect an object by surrounding it with the durable rubber-like material. The properties of this substance mean that it can both absorb and dissipate the force behind a blow when struck, resulting in it either deforming or bouncing upon impact. A skilled user of this technique is capable of making it appear as if they were intending to protect an object or individual within the sphere, when in fact they merely use the ball as a distraction in order to occupy an enemy, while instead covertly withdrawing the item in question from the ball during its formation.
Drawbacks: The ball is not easily destroyed so for anyone placed within the ball will have a rather hard time getting out without the help of the user.

Description: The user expels a large amount of lava from their mouth, which quickly solidifies into multiple boulders of molten rock that are fired towards the target with tremendous force. Due to their composition, the boulders can melt through most objects with ease, and because a considerable number are dispersed over a wide range in quick succession, they are also difficult to avoid.
Drawbacks: The nature of this jutsu is a very destructive one, therefore it is hard to keep it from ruining the surrounding environment and people.
