Mission (Flashback, Invite only)

Strolling down the many streets in Konoha Akashi and his fellow Jounin Jiyu, the pair spotted the old training grounds they use to use when they were younger. Walking over to the designated shinobi training grounds, Akashi spotted some younger academy students being taught how to properly cut down a tree.

Hey man, you remember that mission we did here? It was that time we were sent out to cut down all those trees to bring back to the logging company because they were short-staffed. Man those lazy bums sent the newly promoted Chunnin out to deal with their work. Guess it worked out in the end, finally made it to the rank of Jounin the both of us.

Hell ya, that was a brutal day, had hardly worked such a hard day in my life back then.

Flashback

The sun beat down on the two shinobi, heaving with thick wooden axes resting by the stump of a tree. The stood in the ninja academy training grounds, taking down all the trees in the immediate area. The trees had been left unattended too for too long, and the local logging company wanted the extra product. It was labeled as a D rank mission at the mission board, to which Akashi and Jiyu jumped at the opportunity. This marked the two Chunnin third official ranked mission they would have gone on, one that they didn't think quite matched their level of skill. Nonetheless the two were broke and could do with some physical training.

Well, this pretty much sucks. Swinging the heavy axe against a fresh tree, Akashi labored away at the great number of trees left riddled throughout the training grounds. Thud... thud... thud... The steady rhythm of the axe swings were all that kept Akashi focused on his task. We’ve been chopping all day, yet there’s still so much. The two shinobi panned the area, counting the remaining trees that were scattered throughout the area. There’s not too many left, but we’ve slowed down quite a bit, this will take forever at this rate.

An intense aurora surrounded Jiyu who stood next to a still standing tree. He was clearly trying to power through the mission with his sure endurance he so heartedly possessed. Shit, Jiyu Isn't backing down at all, I’ve really got to amp it up! Time to go all out now and find my limit! The two determined Chunnin chopped down tree after tree to work towards the completion of the mission.

A myriad of explosions erupted around the training grounds. Jiyu stood with his hands in the multi shadow clone hand seal, an impressive jutsu he had already mastered at the rank of Chunnin. They all began whacking away at the trees, which hold now be razed in much shorter time.

Damn, already mastering such a jutsu at his age, Jiyu really is an impressive Ninjutsu caster. While I might not be able to boast such a helpful jutsu for this situation, I can make it twice as effective from my output. Placing his hands into the shadow clone seal a duplicate of Akashi appeared next to the original, moving to the tree next to them and began swinging.

There were many trees still remaining in the training grounds, but the group of focused loggers moved through it at an impressive rate. Akashi barely focused on where Jiyu was, his attention fully zoned in on the task at hand; removing these annoying trees. Swing after swing Akashi worked relentlessly to finish this menial task. A constant shower of wooden chips flew towards the tiring Chunnin, some flying into his hair and at his eyes at times. However the sheer volume of the task proved to be quite the enduring one, taking the better part of the day. The two had started early in the morning hoping to get it out of the way quicker. After falling numerous trees he and his clone got to work in bringing the trees to the logging company, a task that turned out to be one just as equally tasking.

The trees were thinning out, the multitude of clones clustered around the remaining in the training grounds. Jiyu’s clones were incredibly helpful throughout the entire mission, a jutsu that Akashi needed to master himself as it seemed insanely helpful.


It was a very simple mission, but you thought of a nice way to help out with the tree cutting. We got a nice workout.

As the multitude of his own clones cut the trees in front of him they all started to get tired. Even if they were clones they still shared Jiyu's stamina and they had begun to reach their limit. The trees weren't too tall but there were enough of them to make the task a hassle. Finally the last tree was knocked down and Jiyu's clones disappeared in a bunch of smoke. Jiyu sat down next to Akashi and the two caught their breath while soaking in some of the last remaining bits of sun there were before the night came. The two had worked together many times before and this was just another occurrence to add to their friendship. This wasn't the most complicated mission but they had done it with gusto and now had to finish it. Jiyu stood up from his spot and charged his chakra yet again tapping into an amount of chakra he didn’t even know he had.

Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu!

15 clones appeared around them in more smoke and they all looked tired. Jiyu was about to pass out himself but they were almost finished with the mission. He had thought that he didn’t need them anymore since the trees were all cut down but in reality he needed them to help him carry the trees back to KLI. The clones all grabbed an end of a tree and hoisted up the lumber and began to walk towards the company. Jiyu sat down again next to Akashi and rested. He was exhausted from using so much chakra as well as using so much physical energy. They deserved a nice rest and his clones would disappear after they dropped off the trees.

"Nice job Akashi! Let's turn in this mission so we can go home and sleep!"

Jiyu stood up, stretched one more time and walked out of the area his muscles aching but his pride soaring.
