Unique Features: Saiko has quite a bit of unique features to him. The most notable is the tattoo looking features on his forehead. Most often mistaken for tattoos for those who see them, are the unique fuuinjutsu markings he was afflicted with in his younger years as a genin. (Will go into more detail in his backstory.) Though the obvious marks on his face are the only visible ones, Saiko has many more throughout his body that are rarely seen scattered through his neck, torso, back and arms.

Written Description: Saiko’s appearance is a very intimidating sight to the average civilian. The tall muscular looking man not only has the stature on him to rise any attention to him but also the ominous look about his usual face shows that hes not the person to get into any conflict with. On the streets on Kirigakure, he can be found wearing his classic long swaying black robes bordered with white trim alone the openings of the sleeves and where the two middle torso pieces meet. A silver sash finishes the outer garments for saiko, matching the trims of his robes.

Under his robes, on his legs rest some of the classic more popular pants in the shinobi world. Long navy blue baggy pants. They end just below his knees where they become tucked into his white high ankle wraps that also attached themselves to his sandals. Under his robes on his upper torso, Saiko wore nothing. The robes were they only thing that clothed him. On certain occasions such as in battle, he is known to releasing his robes down revealing his bare upper body. Sometimes only letting half of the robes hang, his body revealed the questionable markings throughout his entire body. Resembling that of a type of curse mark was a design that dressed his body ever so disturbingly.

As far as his head goes, the same markings as mentioned before, reside there too. Though not as blatant as other locations, the marks on his head are usually concealed by his headband which he normally wears as an ordinary shinobi would. On other occasions, he might have his set of sunglasses with him either on his face or on top of his headband which sometimes hides the fact that he has a headband on. On his broad defined neck are the same markings once more on each side. These could be easily hidden just as well by letting his long red hair down over his shoulders but he almost consistently wears it in a ponytail letting the marks on his next shine. His Terumi clan crest is also apparent on the man as he wears it on his ears with his signature earrings. Both ears have the clans black and scarlet crest outlined in silver.

Personality; Saiko Terumi is a very emotional type of person. Whether it be anger, sadness, or exited, he always seems extreme. This is something that Saiko finds very hard to hold back. In a sense its just him being himself. In a way that people might think that its showing his foolishness or how naive one is, Saiko does not. He lives with passion and emotion with everything he does. He believes without passion and love in life, you can not achieve any goals, and without any goals, you cannot live. It can be said that Saiko is over reactive to most situations or doesn’t think clear. It only appears that way as he is not the one to conceal his feelings in the heat of things.

Though not as competition minded as he may seem, Saiko always loves a good throwdown to test his peers abilities. He believes it is important to help others improve their skills through hard work and vigorous sparring acting out battle scenarios. He is not one to look at someone who may be better at a certain subject or fighting style than him and envy over it. Instead he will be the first to compliment that person on his compassion for it. Perhaps even ask to learn a thing or two from them.

Though not as rambunctious and wild as he used to be in his younger years, Saiko still gets confused for being the same person. Not to say that the old reckless him isn’t still locked away somewhere deep within him waiting to be released. He is still known to have outbreaks of overflowing emotions when in dire times. Sometimes in the heat of battle or maybe in an intense controversy type of conversations.

All of this put aside, Saiko is a good kind loving person despite his appearance. Even to strangers such as merchants and regular civilians he is always respectful and quick to strike up conversations with them. When around any of his loved ones he is just as kind hearted as he is around strangers but a little more on the playful side. When around outsiders of Kirigakure Saiko is a completely different individual. It is then that Saiko means business. When it comes down to time to defend his comrades and his village, he couldn’t be more ruthless. Usually Saiko attacks with out remorse when in combat with not only enemies but even more against someone he doesn’t like.

Backstory: Saiko was born into this world as a Terumi. In a time where the Terumi clan was on a rise again, Saiko was the pride of the clan from day one. Even as a baby, he was always the “chosen one”. Being the child of one of the greatest clan leaders to ever exist in the Terumi clan, Takeo Terumi. Even though Saiko was not an only child nor the oldest son, he was always destined to be the future of the clan. His older brother Daaku Terumi, was always the disobedient one of the brothers. Being two years older than Saiko meant he was always one step ahead no matter what it was. It wasn’t the fact that Daaku showed no skill or talent. In fact, he showed more promise as a shinobi early on than Saiko did. It was the fact that Daaku did not inherit the kekkei genkai that Saiko did that made him unable to carry on the Terumi name after their father would eventually pass the torch.

As children, Saiko and Daaku did not care what the clans prophecies were or what they weren’t. They treated each other no different. They were close enough in skill level to where it did not matter who had possession of the Yoton element and who didn’t. At the young age of 5, Saiko was barely entering the academy at the same time Daaku had already graduated early with flying colors. It was then that it became apparent to Saiko that he had no choice but to force himself to surpass or become his brothers’ equal. With hard work and dedication, it still did not seem like enough. Two years passed and he was still not able to graduate early as his brother did who was now moving onto dangerous high A ranked missions as a Chuunin. This was unheard from the Terumi clan. Everyone knew his family must be proud but the truth was, they weren’t. Saikos family still held onto the thought of Saiko becoming stronger and the true heir to the Terumi clan. In his mind, he would never amount to Daaku. He began to suck it up and come to realize that Daaku was just a genius and nothing more.

At a time when Saiko was ready to give up trying to compete with his brother, he met an old man. The old man was known as Toshikasa. A person Saiko never heard of, nor did the rest of Kirigakure. It seemed as though the old man was living in secrecy out on what seemed to be a small lifeless island. The old man took in Saiko as a student of his. At the time, he did not know why he would want to train him or if the old delusional old man even had anything to teach. It was the fact that he promised to teach Saiko a different style of fighting that he could use to help surpass his brother. He explained to him that the only reason Daaku seemed more advanced than he was due to the fact that he did not have access to the lava release like Saiko did. Thus forcing him to teach himself and learn different ways of equaling him. It all began to make sense to Saiko when it was broken down to him but he still didn’t see what the old man would teach him. It wasn’t long before he showed him just what he was talking about. Old man Toshikasa opened up Saikos eyes to a brand new style of fighting for him that fit him perfect.

Before Saiko knew it, he was already at chuunin level in a year worth of training relentlessly with Toshikasa. So much, that he almost never spent any time training with the Terumi clan anymore. None of his family asked many questions about where he went everyday, he just left every morning and would be gone till sundown. In his absence for that year, his brother began to fall off just as much as he did. He did not realize this because he was gone all the time as well. During this time, Daaku slowly began to resent his entire family and village. Leading him into darkness which no one seen coming, not even Saiko until the day came.

It was the same time Saiko had just finished the chuunin exams. The entire Terumi clan was out celebrating Saikos magnificent success. Even his own genin team mates were with him. Everyone except his brother. No one except Saiko wondered where he was at. It ate away at him the fact that the closest person in the world to him was not with him on one of the most important days of his life and career as a shinobi. Even old man Toshikasa came by to congratulate Saiko. He had finished the entire chuunin exams almost flawlessly thanks to not only the old man, but also his brother who was the real reason he pushed himself so hard. Then the news came. The Mizukage himself came to the get together. Saiko really thought he was impressive enough for the Mizukage to come commend the boy. That was not the reason he came out though. The real reason was he was breaking the news to Saikos father that his oldest son, Daaku had just slaughtered an entire platoon of Kirigakure shinobi and fled the village. Only one lived long enough to tell what he saw before passing away himself. He explained to Takeo that Daaku and his sensei Yushin Kawaguchi killed an entire squad of chuunin guarding and protecting the village and disappeared. No one had heard anything else after that. The news came as a surprise to everyone. Even if he was always the black sheep of the family, no one expected him to do something this extreme. No one knew what his motives were behind his actions. This disturbed Saiko for a long time. He could not bare the fact that he was now a criminal wanted dead within his home. It did not take long for him to let his brother go after Toshikasa spread more words of wisdom with him. Some people just have different destinies, and Saiko knew this. It all just seemed surreal to him.

Saiko was now 16 years old and on the verge of being a Jounin. He had already surpassed just about every shinobi in the village besides the Mizukage and already named the new Terumi clan leader. Everything was falling into place for Saiko. Fate had treated him just as the clan foresaw. He truly considered himself blessed by all means. Hard work was paying off. His training with Toshikasa put him on a different level than everyone in the village it seemed. No one knew or asked how or why Saiko had all these new undiscovered powers out of nowhere. It was all thanks to the old man, his true sensei. Everthing was going perfect until Yushin Kawaguchi came before Saiko one day. The same man that Saiko hated and resented for manipulating his brother and taking him away. He came to capture and use Saiko just as he did Daaku. The only problem was, Saiko was stronger than he was back then. Sadly, it wasn’t enough to repel Yushin. The two battled for a short amount of time before Saiko fell to Yushin. Down and defeated, Saiko was taken unconsciously. He took Saiko off to his hideout somewhere not far from Kirigakure. He performed multiple experiments on Saiko that he had no idea about until he woke up.

Saiko just woke up one day with no knowledge of what happened in his bed like normal. His family explained to him that he had been missing for months and no one knew what happened to him until now. That was not the only shocking thing that happened. When he woke up, he had Fuuinjutsu markings all over his entire body, not knowing what they were or what they did, he went to the only person he truly knew would know what to do, Toshikasa. Upon arriving, the old man explained to him what happened to him. It amazed Saiko that the old man knew everything and all details by just placing his hand on Saikos head. He explained to Saiko that Yushin had an evil plan to use Saiko against Kirigakure by sealing demon souls within Saiko in hopes for when he would use his chakra, the demons would be released and destroy everyone in sight. In essence making Saikos body a host for a demonic army under Yushins control. Toshikasa explained to him that it took a very long time for Yushin to prepare this type of jutsu on him thus why he was missing for so long. Though it would only take Toshikasa an entire day to safely remove the demons within the boy. Only problem was, the tattoo resembling seals would not go away with the things sealed away inside them. After the treatment was done, Saiko continued living his life normally just as he did before. He did not hide what had happened to him from anyone in the village or his family. He knew that Yushin would come back for him one day and he would have to become much stronger if he was to fight him off this next time.

By the time Saiko became a full fledged Jounin, Saiko had already become a hero in the village. Already worthy of being the Mizukage himself, Saiko continued training ever so diligently with Toshikasa and the Terumi clan. The problem existed where that he had already mastered so much of the Terumi clan and surpassed everyone in it that he began to take his Yoton skills to the next level. He extended the Terumis potential himself. Creating and inventing new techniques for the clan. He also had succeeded in finding and wielding the mythical Terumi sword of legend, The Hellreaver. No one actually thought of the sword to exist except Saiko. He made it a goal of his to one day find and master the blade himself after reading about it in the ancient Terumi’s scribes. He tracked down where he read it was at and claimed it his own. It added a great addition to his duo of swords along with his original blade he wielded and carried around with him everywhere. Another sword of legend he claimed by passing a series of trials, Rakshasa’s Frenzy. Named after the father of all tigers, it was a sword that Rakshasa himself wielded a long time ago before Saikos time. He had earned both epic swords on his own and was highly skilled in both just as he carried them with him.

It was only a matter of time before the village elected him Mizukage and when the day came, Saiko did not take time to relax or feel relieved. He knew his true test was just beginning. Nothing made him happier than fulfilling his dream of protecting his entire village as its leader. The responsibility did not scare him off, instead it motivated him to become the best Mizukage he could be.
