Written Description: Kenta is a rather big individual, especially for his age. His muscles are more on the large side, and he's pretty tall. With all the factors of his, he could probably look pretty intimidating. His teeth are razor sharp and jagged, giving him a sort of feral look. He has a katana strapped to his side for quick access. His face is in an almost angry state most of the time, if not always.
Kenta's clothing all revolve around being functional and battle ready. He wears a black, sleeveless tunic over his body that extends past his legs in the same fashion as a samurai's kimono. A white belt ties it around the waist. Underneath this is his armor, consisting of chainmail for his upper body, and padded leggings. On each of his arms is a leather bracer by the wrist. He also wears the traditional sandals of shinobi.
The one thing Kenta wears out of "fashion" would be the accessories that adorn his body. Around his neck is a black, choker style necklace, and on his each of his ears are a little black stud. On his left middle finger is a ring with the Kanji symbol for strength imprinted on the top.
On Kenta's sword are a few messages, three in total. On the outside of his sheath, all along one side, it says "Fear the shark's bite." Along the blade it says, "Blood frenzy." And on the inside of the sheath there is a hidden message reading, "Once connection is made, bloodshed will be unstoppable."

Faceclaim?: Hisagi Shuuhei from Bleach
Personality; Kenta is harsh, in most meaning of the word. He loves the idea and act of battle, and constantly yearns to test his might against everyone. He holds no prejudice when it comes to fighting, he wished to fight everyone. Fighting is life, it's exhilaration, fear, and pain. If there's one thing he can truly say he loves, it's battle.
Because of Kenta's love for fighting, he's been in quite a few, and in these battles, he's been hurt. Unlike most people, the pain he felt wasn't bad or something he wished to avoid. The pain felt great, the pain reminded him that he was alive. He loves the idea of getting hurt in battle, and doesn't care much for avoiding it.
His ultimate want is to find the one person that can truly kill him. After experiencing all this pain, all the tears of flesh, he can't help but wonder what the feeling of death is. However, he won't go easily into death. He believes that this death should be glorious, in an all out fight between equals. So he searches, and fights, hoping to find the one that he sees as worthy.
Kenta isn't one for making friends and playing nice. He says what's on his mind, not caring whether it's mean, or wrong. While he doesn't make friends, he isn't opposed to making allies, though the idea of people fighting with him and sharing the spoils of battle is something he refuses. Being an ally of his grants no special treatment, he will act just the same to them, he just won't kill them.
He believes, even with everybody telling him otherwise, that his view on death is shared by the world. This causes him to show no mercy, and he kills without a second thought.

Family Members: Kin Hoshigaki (father), mother unknown, Hidenori (Brother, deceased)
Backstory: Kenta was strong from day one, and his father could see it. His clan was renowned for their strength, absolved in it. This meant that Kenta was to be prominent in whatever he chose to do. His father, knowing the strength that Kenta possessed, started training him quite early, teaching him the ways of the sword by the age of 7. Kenta grasped his father's teachings almost instantly, and was being put in tournaments, even underground brawls.
The fighting he did was immaculate, and some of the most enjoyable moments of his life. The thrill, blood, sweat, and fear of heated battle was intoxicating and addicting. Kenta continually fought, for money, strength, and pride. He was in love with the sensation.
Kenta's brother Hidenori was also strong, though not as strong as Kenta himself. Kin, the boy's father, spent most of his time obsessing over Kenta, training him more, spending more energy on him, almost leaving his brother by himself. This drove Hidenori mad. He was the older one, he should be the star of his family, he should get the attention, or so he thought.
As time went by, the lack of attention and appreciation made Hidenori resent his younger brother. The two now fought constantly, bickering and becoming physical when words weren't enough. Each time it became physical, Kenta would wind up the victor, further spurring the hatred of his brother.
Eventually the hate consumed Hidenori, and he began to plot the death of his so called brother, even if it cost him everything. He stole shinobi weaponry from his father, even taking the family's sacred sword, "Same kōshō". He took these and waited for his brother to return home from his training. When Kenta arrived at his house, Hidenori attacked, slashing the sword wildly, cutting Kenta in a number of places. Kenta had never received injuries such as these before, and while he held his hand over one of the opened cuts, he realized that this feeling was like what he felt in the brawls, only magnified so intensely.
Laughter rung out of Kenta as he savored the feeling of his flesh stinging. As it numbed, his mood did too. He looked up from a slash on his chest, staring his brother in the eyes. He knew what this cut meant. This cut was the final act of defiance against Kenta, this was a fatal battle in wait. Kenta suddenly lashed forward, and grabbed his brother by the hand, also taking hold of the sword. The two struggled for a few moments before Kenta kicked upwards, dislodging the sword from his brother's hands.
When he had it, he looked his brother in the eye once more, and said, "You've made a huge mistake." Then cut down, slaying the brother that had wished death on him. Kenta expected to feel sadness or remorse, but all he felt was excitement and elation. This was true spilling of blood, and it was wonderful. He had never anticipated becoming a ninja, but that idea suddenly sounded good to him.
When his father returned home, Kenta explained what had happened, and they buried Hidenori. Kin gave him the sword that killed Hidenori, a reminder of what happened, and a reminder of his strength. He then told his father that he would like to enroll in the academy and become a shinobi, his father thought well of the idea, and decided to go with it. The next day, at the age of 12, Kenta was enrolled. The only reason he was allowed to join so late, was because of the skill he already showed in fighting, and the level of swordsmanship he presented.
Four years of lessons and practice lead to him acing his exam and earning the right to be called genin. Now he could find more battles than ever, and would experience true bloodshed. The very idea gave him goosebumps.
