Name: Mizushima, Mitsuko
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Birthday: July 23
Zodiac Signs: Cancer
Height: 4'10''
Weight: 95 lbs
Eye Color/Shape: Her eyes are a bright, ice blue. They're round and large, one of her most prominent features.
Hair Color/Style: Mitsuko's dark, black hair stops mid-back. Her fringe is straight across (just because it's easier to trim them that shape herself) and her hair is otherwise a bit choppy, but she likes to keep it neat. She will sometimes put her hair up in a simple, high ponytail, leaving her fringe and some chunks of hair that fall slightly past her chin down.
Skin Tone/Build:Pretty tanned from the sun. She is very small and light, making her quick and nimble but also fragile. She doesn't have much muscle, or muscle definition.
Unique Features: She always has some bandages on her. Whether it be bandages wrapping around her head, a bandaid on her cheek, or some bandage covering entire limbs, she's always seen wearing them in some fashion. She does this with every injury, even if it's just a scratch. Sometimes her entire body may be covered in bandages.
Written Description: For Mitsuko's ninja wear, she has a fishnet shirt that goes halfway up her neck and the sleeves stop a quarter way down her upper-arm. On top of that is a light blue cloth-armor vest that covers from her armpit to an inch past her bellybutton, with some fishnet peaking past. The straps that hold the vest go over the shoulders, and are about three fingers thick and have belt-buckles where they are attached to the top of the vest in the front. She prefers having her headband around her neck. Her gloves are a plain black and fingerless. Her light-gray shorts end a bit above mid-thigh and on the outer leg of both sides is missing a strip of fabric two inches thick. The front and back of her shorts are held together by three buckles running up and down where fabric is missing. Her hip pouch, a light tan, is on her left side along with her black kunai pouch, which rests mid-thigh. Her ninja sandals are black and are pretty standard, except they end at her knees and are stylized a bit to resemble boots.
Her casual wear is pretty simple. She wears a white sundress with a sweetheart neckline. The straps are thin and are tied into ribbons at the top of her shoulder. The dress's waist ends at her bellybutton and the fabric below is very light and flows easily, stopping a bit past knee level. She has a seashell necklace colored a light pink that hangs a bit above the dress's neckline. Her sandals are a light tan and consist of a sole and a thick strap above her toes. If it's hot and sunny enough, she'll wear a light tan sun-hat that matches the color of her sandals.
She has very large, round eyes, they're what she is most complimented on and what is noticed first. Her eyebrows are thick and have a smooth arch to them. Her nose is a bit small but has a bump on the bridge of it, near the top. Her cheeks, primarily under her eyes, have a splash of light freckles. Her lips are a bit small width-wise but are thick. Her cupid's bow is not very prominent, but is still barely there. When she smiles, she has a dimple on her right cheek. Her ears are a bit small and stick out slightly which she tries hiding by having some of her hair down in a ponytail.

Personality: Mitsuko is a warm, outgoing girl. She is very social and loves being with people, preferring to work in teams versus alone. Being alone, or working alone, causes her a bit of stress. She makes friends easily and thrives in social situations. She is also fiercely loyal to whomever she holds near and dear, like best friends and family. Sometimes this loyalty will conflict with her own morals.
Mitsuko is a very dramatic person. She wears her heart on a sleeve and her reactions are over the top. Something makes her happy? She'll jump in joy and hug everyone while yelling in excitement. She gets her feelings hurt? She bursts into tears and sobs and will cry her heart out. And extension of this would be her hypochondria. Anytime she gets hurt, she may cry and freak out, exaggerating the wound a bit, truly believing it's life-threatening even if it's just a minor wound. She will also wrap her injuries in bandages, no matter how minor. She is always seen adorned in bandages in some fashion.
Her fighting style is mainly defensive. In battle, because of her hypochondria, she will avoid as many attacks as possible, because she is always unlucky and gets hurt severely every time (or so she thinks). She prefers to fight from afar, or to support her teammates so she doesn't have to be in the front-lines. She also disagrees with killing, and deems it unnecessary. She'd rather have a person captured and imprisoned than killed, as she believes it's the right thing to do. Hardly ever will she agree that someone needs to die.
Even though she is young and has much to learn, most would say Mitsuko is a very bright girl. Because she's so used to dodging and keeping her distance, she easily strategizes and adapts, although her overall experience hinders this to some extent. She got rather good grades at the academy and seemed to have a knack for genjutsu, however she would always cry over every injury in taijutsu, making it rather difficult for her to learn. Mitsuko prefers to stay away from Taijutsu because of this.

Family Members: Mizushima, Souta (Father). Mizushima, Takara (Mother, deceased) Hamasaki, Kairi (Grandmother)
Backstory:
0-3: Mitsuko was born to Souta and Takara in Mizu no Kuni, Kirigakure. Takara, for maternity leave, took off one year and stayed with her mother in a small village near the ocean. Because Mitsuko's grandmother was not far from the hidden village, that was Mitsuko's main residence, with at least one of her parents with her at all times (although her parents frequently changed who was where due to missions). Her mother was a Jounin and her father a Chunnin, and her dad was usually the one with her due to this. Mitsuko was always very happy though and was a bright and bubbly girl, and the weird arrangement didn't seem to affect her. Most people found their arrangement quite odd but it seemed to work quite well for everyone.
4: During this year, Mitsuko's mother died during a mission. Mitsuko was too young to comprehend the death though, and all she really remembers is her father and grandmother grieving and her mom all of a sudden disappearing. Souta, her father, retired immediately after the death and decided to leave their life in Mizu no Kuni for a peaceful life in Ta no Kuni (later known as Oto no Kuni). Souta as a child lost both of his parents who were ninja. He remembered all the hardships of being orphaned and didn't want that for Mitsuko. He wanted to be there for her, to see her grow, and for that reason he also vowed to himself that he wouldn't let her be a ninja.
5-6: Souta took a job working the rice fields. It was laborous, but the pay was decent and definitely enough for just two people. Mitsuko also started showing signs of wanting to be a ninja, but would always be shot down by her father, who was scared for her. Mitsuko was obviously annoyed with this, and would throw fits every time and be adamant. Souta would just say "Well, sorry sweetie, but where we live we don't even have ninjas." That would usually do the trick, although she still showed interest. They lived a rather normal life, and would try to visit Mitsuko's grandmother as often as possible, along with the coast up north, but nothing beat the small village where Mitsuko's grandmother is from.
7-9: Ta no Kuni became known as Oto no Kuni and established it's own ninja village , coincidentally, right near where they lived. Now nothing stopped Mitsuko's pestering. There was nothing more that she wanted. She wanted to make her mother's spirit proud, and wanted so badly to be a ninja. Of course, Souta would obviously say no. Eventually, after denying her for five straight years, three with a ninja village so close, he realized how much it really meant to his daughter. Souta would be flooded with memories of his ninja career, all the friendships, successes, fails, hardships...And no matter how much he was against it, he realized it was unfair to his daughter for him to deny her. He realized he can't coddle her and shield her forever and always knew in the back of his mind that it was inevitable from the start. It was in her blood to be a ninja. Mitsuko, much to her ecstatic, was enrolled into the academy at age 9 and although she was several years older than everyone else, was so happy.
9-14: Mitsuko was an exceptional student. She was very smart and learned the material easily, and in her first year was actually bumped up into the next grade because she knew most of the material from her father helping her, and just from all his stories. She was a very outgoing and warm girl, making friends with practically everyone, and never made enemies. She showed high promise in genjutsu and was at the top of the class in that aspect, but also scored lowest in taijutsu. She was awful at hand to hand combat because any little scratch would send her into hysterics. Eventually she learned enough to barely pass the level for that, and her gnack at genjutsu also surely made up for it. Her ninjutsu was around average, maybe slightly above, but nothing notable. Overall Mitsuko was a good student and passed the genin test with relative ease, save for the taijutsu test.
14-Current day: Mitsuko has been a full-fledged Genin for about a week now. Souta, although he doesn't exactly approve of her being a ninja, has been fully supportive of her ever since he enrolled her. He even helped her train and helped her further her Genjutsu a bit with what he remembers, but that was never his specialty. For celebration, they took a mini-vacation to the beach up north. Now, Mitsuko, wearing her headband around her neck, is ready to start her journey as a ninja.

The hot sun beamed in the clear skies, high in the sky. Mitsuko's smile was as bright as the sun's rays as she ran barefoot in the warm sand. She stopped and sunk her toes into the sand, laughing in joy and urging her father to keep up with her. "Come on dad! We haven't been to a beach in forever!"
He smiled at her enthusiasm and dismissed her jokingly. "Yeah yeah, I'm coming, I'm just old. Let your old man go at his own pace!"
She rolled her eyes and laughed at him. Running back impatiently, she grabbed his arms and whilst dragging him rambled on about how awesome he is and how awesome the next few days will be.
Souta just smiled at her childish excitement and thought to himself 'She sure is excited. I can't blame her though, considering she just became an official ninja. My little girl is growing up...This will probably be the last time in a while I'll be able to have a vacation like this with her. I better make sure she has the best time, she's earned it with all of her constant training to pass the Genin test. And, this may also be the last time she can be so free and uncaring for a long time...'
While splashing him, Mitsuko's voice broke Souta from his thoughts. "Hey, dad! Come on, snap out of dreamland! We're at the beach! It's time to enjoy the ocean and the sun, not your own thoughts!"
Quickly reacting, Souta blocked the waves and ducked underwater to avoid the torrential downpour from her incessant splashing. Suddenly jumping up he grabbed her and dunked her underwater as she screamed and laughed in defiance.
The hours seemed to fly by as the father/daughter duo had a carefree afternoon playing in the water, collecting seashells, among other cliches. The day ended a little quickly though, when Mitsuko stubbed her toe and fell to the ground, claiming she'd broken her foot and can't continue living. Exhausted, Souta decided to head back to the hotel with an injured Mitsuko. The next five days had the same carefree feel to them, and on the morning of the sixth they headed back towards Otogakure, so Mitsuko can finally start her life as a Genin.
