Manga Discussion Thread(Spoilers for those who are not up to date)

So I think we need a Manga discussion thread. (This would just be for the Naruto Manga not for others although that could be made as well if anyone wants to.)

There will be spoilers here for anyone who hasn't caught up to the current chapters in the manga.

But I think it would be cool to share opinions on the most recent chapters so I can share my nerdgasms with you all.

I'll start us off regarding chapter 640 that came out today...

Just waiting for Orochimaru to arrive.

Yeah, I'm all about orochimaru ending up as the main villain of the series again but I dunno how much help he'll be at this current point in time...

Oh, I doubt he'll become the main villain. I predict he'll come to Naruto and Sasuke's aid, bringing something in that is completely ridiculous to actually help against Obito.

Then Naruto dies and Sasuke becomes Hokage.

Nah. Sasuke dies too. Sakura becomes Hokage.

All three die. Kiba becomes Hokage.

I dunno I feel like Orochimaru could definitely pull something on the shinobi alliance. Why would he just blatantly follow sasuke's orders and be treated like a little bitch? He has always been in control and giving the orders but all of a sudden he is just being bossed around? I dont think so. he had said he wasn't concerned with this war and I think that is because it is possible he is going to create his own war afterwards to take down the weakened, near defeated shinobi alliance after they beat Obito and Madara.

This is just a possibility but I think that a full circle of Orochimaru starting as the main villain and then ending as it would be pretty cool.

Mnm, I wouldn't say he's being bosses around. As soon as he was revived he stated he wanted to see the path Sasuke took. Seeing Kabuto emulate him to such an extreme seemed to display the error of his ways. I think Orichimaru has actually changed now and as awesome as it would be for him to be the villain again it would drag out the manga a bit too much. Kishi's already said the mangas in the end stage, but it's going to be interesting what Orichimaru does when he arrives. I hope we get to see some hydra action again, I always thought it was pretty cool. Although it would literally do nothing to obito :/

I dunno, I don't think he's going to change his ways because he saw Kabuto lose his way. When he came back to life he even stated that he still wanted Sasuke's body.

There's a theory out there that Orochimaru, with his now fully powered self, will swoop down on the finished battlefield when everyone is near-dead and take over sasuke's body. Orochimaru now has senju cells and taking over sasuke would also give him the rinnegan. Sasuke/orochi then becomes the new/last villain and the final Naruto vs. Sasuke fight now has an extremely valid reason to happen.

Just another theory, I don't think this will happen but it would be fun if it did.

Oh, so it wouldn't be a new arc or anything, but the set up for a final battle. If that happens I imagine minato would give naruto the other half of the kyubii to give naruto a power up to even it out. Then naruto would have to save sasuke from Orichimaru! Oooo, I like this

Another thing that I thought of. Remember that scroll that Suigetsu found? The one he eventually gave to Sasuke and stated that they could use that scroll to rule the shinobi world. They haven't clarified what was on the scroll yet, right(I hope I didn't blatantly overlook something; I don't see anything on the wikia about it)? Perhaps that will be of significant importance now.

The scroll stated how to release the reaper death seal to summon the 4 kages and get orochi's arms back.

But you do have a point with the whole "rule the ninja world" I don't think thats what suigetsu had in mind when he saw the scroll. So that could be something unknown as well...

Ahh, thanks. It's been awhile, so I forgot that small detail about the scroll containing the information for releasing the seal.

And definitely, Suigetsu's comments about ruling the shinobi world do seem interesting. Suigetsu was extremely against the resurrection of Orochimaru, so that leaves more to question as well. For whatever was on the scroll, Suigetsu seems to have thought it was a key of great value that had no need of Orochimaru. Even if Suigetsu's idea WAS something along those ideas, I wonder what he planned to do without Orochimaru.

NEW CHAPTER!!! AAUUGGHH IT WAS SO GOOD!

Lots of awesome action, the 2nd hokage has finally done something cool.(The self destruction thing was neat but not really cool.  He has finally shown his potential here.)  He finally uses the flying thunder god technique and in tandem with Minato, does a pretty sweet switching places jutsu.

This also confirms that the flying thunder god is not limited to just one seal since the 2nd and the fourth have entirely different seals they used.  This not only simplifies things in the manga universe but also on this site as well.  We dont have to worry about multiple FTG users using each other's seals.

But wait there's more! Sasuke and Naruto are at it again with their combination amaterasu rasen whatever its called.(Scorch Release: Halo Gale Jet Black Arrow Style Zero).  and not only do they do it in a badass way but they also do it with the Kage's tandem switcheroo!

Badass Style: Kick some Juubito ass no Jutsu!:

Very cool chapter, lots of stuff happened.  Hashirama and Madara are in the heat of things just on the side as well.  Both are in control of massive jutsus, susano'o vs. some kind of wood giant.  And it seems like Madara is keeping Hashirama out of the fight for some reason.  Stating that he wants to keep him a bit longer.  This might have something to do with his trump card but I guess we can only speculate.

Also! regarding the 2nd and the FTG, I actually thought that maybe he could be able to use it yesterday but quickly disregarded the thought as stupid and meaningless... and look where we are now... How cool would it have been if I predicted it on like the naruto subreddit and then the next day it came true??? haha

Well the reason why I had this though was because I was thinking back on the Hashirama and Madara flashbacks and this particular frame came to mind.

Why didn't we see this earlier?:

He says it out loud! Flying Thunder God Slash! (or thats what it translates to.)  I know we all assumed it was just a special sword or something but it now seems painfully obvious that he invented the technique and the 4th mastered it.  Which kind of makes the 2nd seem a little lame.

He created the FTG but the 4th Mastered it.

He created the Edo Tensei but Orochimaru and Kabuto Mastered it.

I guess he still has water left

Nah but he was really badass this chapter, overall great, sorry if this post was too long haha.  I'd love to hear your guys' opinions on the chapter though.

Actually, I kind of saw this coming as well, except for a completely different(and inaccurate) reason.

Chapter 631, page 6. When the Kage arrived on the battlefield, the 2nd Hokage notes, "Fourth, your Shunshin is better than mine."

Some time after I read the chapter, I thought of that section, and forgot the wording a bit. I mixed up Shunshin with Hiraishin, So, I got the idea that the 2nd Hokage was saying that the 4th's Flying Thunder God was better than his own. Sure, it was a complete mistake on my part, but I still predicted it!

As for the actual chapter:

I agree, it was an interesting chapter. The switch-a-roo they did was particularly intriguing. I didn't expect them to do something like that. I'm honestly waiting to see how little damage the whole attack did, though. Also, still waiting for Orochimaru to show up.

Pfft, they used their own seals, but Hiraishin users can use other people's seals here. Besides, it's not like Konoha is going to have it forever...

The next generation always surpasses the previous.

I'm amazed by how many people have that technique. Watching the newest anime episode, I was reminded that Genma and two other people can combine their powers to teleport peeps. So many people have it! : O
