Here of this site we use Experience for everything ranging from learning technique, training stats, unlocking blood line, and pretty much anything retaining to your character. Gaining experience points is much easier than you think. All you need to do is enjoy Rping and get as much legitimate post as you can!
Quote :
XP System:
Basic topic grades (normal Character Development and Training Topics, and Spars):
10 XP per post 5 XP per every 300 words in a post
Extra topic grades (Training w/Sensei, Event, Battle):
+5 XP per post for training with a Sensei + 25 XP for an Event topic participated in + 100 XP for winning in a battle topic which you could have been killed OR +50 for escaping a battle topic in which you could have been killed
This is a template to see what is gained through standard RP. Let's say you spend six post training with your Sensei while striking at least 300 words per post. There you would've gained 120 XP for a basic six post training topic with your Sensei.

Value of Attribute : Amount of Experience Needed To Increase It
This chart is to show how much experience is needed to raise one stat point.
Example:
Quote :
1 - 10 : 15
The numbers to the left of the colon is the stat range you are in currently. The numbers to the right is the amount of experience needed to raise the stat up ONE point. If I have 100 Experience to spend and I currently have 15 in the stat I want to raise, I can raise the stat up a total of 4 points while spending all my experience points.
Lets say you're at 19 and you have 200 experience to spend. You spend 25 XP to one point, THEN you must continue to spend 35 XP since you're in another tier until you move up the next tier and so on.

NOW HAVE FUN WITH THAT~

Now that most of the work is done, and I'm going over things, I see an issue here with the XP system. I'll explain...

If we go by this, gaining XP will be too easy and after a good topic, eveyone will have a ton of stats. This is because 10 XP are awarded per post +bonuses. If we go with this chart here, lets say for the range 51-60: 65....I'd only need a little over 6 posts to gain a stat, and that's not even including bonuses.
Maybe we should raise it. Suggestions, comments, ideas? We either should raise the numbers in the chart, or lower the XP amount you get.

How many posts do you think is actually fair? If one does the minimum 300 words per post (and assuming they gain the +5 for doing that 300 words) it's actually 5 posts with some experience left over, but over those 5 posts you've done a minimum of 1500 words. Because we have a minimum requirement for words per post, it comes down to a minimum of X words gets you Y stat.
Something you might do is say every 300 words beyond the first 300 in a post gets you the +5 bonus, just to keep people from doing the minimum every time for a cool 15 XP per post. The idea there is one shouldn't be rewarded for doing the minimum.
Anyway I guess I just don't see the issue with it. If you have a suggestion on how hard it should be, I'll look at it, but I don't have any other real ideas on it.

hmm. Sorry if I seemed like I was bitching. I didn't mean to, was just really tired. Thank you also for the suggestions so no one just does a minimum of 300 words. I like that. I'll put that in there, and slightly alter the numbers, then ya'll can tell me what you think. I'm not gonna make it overly hard, just slightly harder.

XP System:
Basic topic grades (normal Character Development and Training Topics, and Spars)
6 XP per post 8 XP per every 600 words in a post (the minimum WC is 300, but no bonus will be given for the minimum)
Extra topic grades (Training w/Sensei, Event, Battle)
+4 XP per post for training with a Sensei + 20 XP for an Event topic participated in + 100 XP for winning in a battle topic which you could have been killed OR +50 for escaping a battle topic in which you could have been killed
This is a template to see what is gained through standard RP. Let's say you spend six post training with your Sensei while striking at least 300 words per post. There you would've gained 108 XP for a basic six post training topic with your Sensei.
Now, I'll change the ranges so they go with 2,4,6, etc.

I doubled the amount after someone reaches 50.
Please let me know what you guys think. I don't think this is too difficult, while it's not too easy either.

Now I also have a question, because I didn't see it stated anywhere - is there a maximum number of stats one can have?
For example, the maximum points you can have on TNRPG was something like 400, while only 100 of those could be above 50 in a stat. Were we going to stick with this example? If so the training should get higher after 50, anyway.
Honestly it's all going to be the same for me either way. I'm retraining a character that I maxed from Genin with next to no help - most of which was done before we lowered the training required for a stat point (1500 a point below 20 w00t). If it's harder, it's harder. If it's not, then...well, it's not. Hahah.
What I don't want is for people to look at it and go "well fuck all that."

Yes, we should be going with the max rule on TNRPG. 100 over the limit seems fair enough. And I agree with Kye on his last statement. We're not trying to discourage the combat system overall. Try and keep things not TOO extreme.

Well imo this seems a little too steep. I mean, 10 post for 1 point in the 50-61 range is pretty steep off the bat. Also, its not a big deal, but I dont like the increments

well, if we go with yours that you made before, can you just double it at the 50's?
